Biokovo Nature Park

The protected Biokovo Nature Park spreads along the mountain of Biokovo, and the mountain itself is like a huge wall above the Makarska riviera. Biokovo Skywalk offers a magnificent view of the Makarska Riviera and the central Dalmatian islands on the top. Recreation enthusiasts are able to enjoy cycling, hiking, horseback riding and many other activities like adventurous paragliding.An unique attraction of the Park is the Skywalk – a glass bridge offering a spectacular view of the coastline and islands. Franciscan monastery of St. Mary in Zaostrog

The largest and most important monument of culture in this area is the Franciscan Monastery of Saint Mary founded in the 14th century. The abandoned monastery was settled in 1468 by the Franciscans from the Province of Bosna Srebrna, and they are still active today. The museum offers an ethnological collection, peasant furniture and tools, as well as different Croatian national costumes.One of the most interesting paintings is certainly the one from the 18th century, showing a Dalmatian dog at The Last Supper, which is proof of the authenticity of the breed. The surrounding of the monastery is enriched with a botanical garden, which serves as a green oasis right by the sea.

Gradac is located on several marked cycling routes, such as route number 341 or 360. Route maps are provided at the hotel reception.
